  • 18.12.: the UK tour 2002 is coming to its end - 3 gigs to go in Scotland (Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh) before a well-earned rest for the band.
  • Meanwhile Mr. Paul Hirsh (QUO's ex-keyboarder) is performing a show with "The Mods" on Thursday Dec. 19 in Sutton, Surrey (Boroughs Sports Ground).

  • 22.11.: the official QUO side announced 2 gigs in Brazil for February 2003. February 14 sees Status Quo play in Rio de Janeiro and on February 15 Status Quo is live in Sao Paulo.

  • 18.11.: The new album "Heavy Traffic" has gone SILVER in UK since last Friday. Thats 60.000 sold copies and more.

  • 08.11.: the german radio station SWR1 performed a special charts from 30.10. - 2.11. The listeners where asked of their best songs of the last 50 years. Stats Quo's "In the Army now" was voted on No. 565. The best 500 songs were played within 50 hours. The winner was Bill Haley's "Rock around the clock" - runners up Brian Adams "Everything I do".

  • 07.11.: in the welsh newspaper "The Western Telegraph" - Nov. 6th there was an article about 2 directors of the Sanctuary group who recently have been working on a trailer called "STatus Quo - The ultimate collection". From boxing day onwards this trailer will be broadcast on UK television and early next year in all other countries just in time for the forthcoming Status Quo world tour. It will feature all the greatest hits, some songs of the "Heavy Traffic" album and some rare unreleased BBC recordings from the 70ies. And the best known live shows weere included too. The commercial was fimed with Rick and Francis and it shows both QUO men disagreeing what is the favourite QUO classic.

  • 03.11.: new single "All stand up" new entry in the UK singles charts on No.51.
  • Gig infos of the UK tour: in Brighton and Bournemouth additional songs "Burning Bridges" and "Juniors wailing" in the encore. And in Bournemouth another added song in the encore "Old Time Rock n Roll".

  • 02.11.: topic chart news of the new album: Switzerland No.49 (5th week) - Denmark No.73 (5th week) - Estonia No.69. In the swedish radio Sveriges P3 the album is listed No.54. A little bit more about web-charts referring Online-music-fairs/downloads (such as mp3 or winamp): in Spain the song Rhythm of Life is listed on the topic webchart on No.14. The new single was No.50 in the mid-week charts. There is information that the single was not in every shop (only HMV..) and that there was less or no promotion. Tomorrow night the final list of the UK chart is out.

  • 29.10.: kick-off of the UK tour 2002 in Liverpool / Philharmonic Hall. Until 21.12.2002 40 gigs are scheduled all over Great Britain. The first part of the UK tour the band Little Egypt is the support act.

  • 28.10.: today the single "All stand up (Never say never)" is released in Great Britain. It is the 2. single release of the album "Heavy Traffic".

  • 27.10.: Heavy Traffic album -> topical chart notes: Switzerland No.50, Denmark No.44, Sweden No.33 (Sveriges Radio P3). In Germany the album is not in the TOP100 charts of next week.

  • 25.10.: a Status Quo concert is announced for Zürich/Switzerland, March 21, 2003.

  • 24.10.: today the long awaited Status Quo documentary "Rock on ... and on" is on television programm Channel 4. Due at 10.35 p.m. On the UK tour 2001 the TV team followed Status Quo on their tour. There will be some live cuttings and more important interviews with fans and the band.
  • a look back: 25 years ago on October 24, 1977 the single "Rocking all over the world" entered the german single charts and spent there a total of 28 weeks !! notching up on No.7

  • 22.10.: with the concert in Amsterdam the 10 gigs on the european continent are finished. From October 29, the tour continues in Great Britain with a total of 40 gigs. On the first half of the tour Little Egypt is the support band. 2 sons of Francis Rossi are band members of Little Egypt.
  • Before the UK tour kicks off there is the long awaited Quo documentary "Rock on and on" on television Channel 4, Thursday November 24, 10.45 p.m.

  • 10.10.: Heavy Traffic slipped down to No.88 in the german album charts.
  • Friday, October 11 sees the start of the massive "Heavy Traffic" tour with 50 gigs until the end of the year. The tour will be kicked off with 7 concerts in Germany, after that 1 in France, 1 in Netherlands and 1 in Belgium. Then the annual UK winter tour starts with 40 gigs.

  • 06.10.: new album now No.48 of the UK album charts.
  • On the next single "All stand up" there will be a new previously unreleased Rossi/Young song.

  • 03.10.: new album "Heavy Traffic" entered the UK charts on no.15 and in Germany on no.35. Meanwhile Universal Music announced the second single release the song "All stand up".

  • 24.09.: in the german Media-Markt the new album is released with the bonus-track "Anniversary Waltz" Cat.No. 064794-2 Universal Music Group.

  • 19.09.: Happy birthday JOHN COGHLAN. John did a short tour through Germany just a few days ago with his band "State of Quo". John is celebrating his 56th birthday. He was QUO's drummer until 1982.

There are 12 pages about Status Quo spanning their career and a good disographie including "Swedish collection". The german "Never ending rock lexica" is delivered monthly including sheets of paper of different artists and it started 30 months ago now including a total of 1600 pages.   • 18.08.: the new single "Jam Side Down" now number 25 in the UK-charts.

  • 17.08.: a 10.000 sold out cowd saw yesterday (aug 16) in Tufertschwil/Switzerland a brilliant Status Quo gig. Unfortunately in between the song "4500 times" there was a breakdown of the stage lightning. The band continued to play in the dark until the lighting switched on. At the end of "Rain" the same happened again. Status Quo this time with a shortened set. They dropped Mystery Medley and Juniors Wailing from their setlist. Again Quo with a solid performance and the highlights are "The wanderer", "Whatever" and "In the army now".   • 14.08.: the support band for the german october gigs is the acoustic duo "WHO's THAT GIRL"
  • on Friday night (August 9) there was a 3 1/2 hour special in german local TV station Südwest3 called "The Beat goes on". All the highlights from the famous german Beatclub series was broadcasted. The Herd's song "Paradise Lost" with Andy Bown on keyboards was shown and last but not least, at the end of the special 3 songs of Status Quo's 1999 german TV appearance in Baden-Baden were shown. "The Way it goes", "The Wanderer" and the "Mystery Medley".

  • 31.07.: short news of the album launch on board of the aircraft ARK MROYAL were shown on GMTV/UK and BBC Liquid News. On BBC Radio 2 there was a report too. Status Quo played 4 songs of the new album: All stand up - Solid Gold - Heavy Traffic - Creeping up on you.

  • 23.07.: the new single 'Jam Side Down' was introduced in british TV. On BBC2 in the series 'Top of the Pops 2' the new video was shown. Showing Status Quo on board of the aircraft ARK ROYAL performing in humourous way.

  • 15.07.: Universal Music have reissued the 2x-CD "Whatever you want - The very best of" in Germany. On the right top of the cover "The Best of the Best" is printed and from left to top of bottom a bracket with the Universal banner is printed.

  • 08.07.: a new compilation CD Status Quo "In the Army now - The collection" is out now released in Germany. Label: Mercury/Universal.

  • 02.07.: Germany/Austria -> the last 4 concerts of the german tour have gone down very well with crowd capacities of around 1.200 in Saarbrücken up to 4.500 at the open air in Künzelsau together with Slade and Leo Sayer. Last Saturday saw Quo performing their only austrian gig this year in Gutenberg were the local football-club was the promoter !!!

  • 26.06.: TOPNEWS - the UK winter-tour dates were published. Christened the "Heavy Traffic" UK tour 2002. This time a bunch of 40 gigs from 29.10. Liverpool until 21.12. Edinburgh. Interestingly the dates of Basingstoke, Bristol and Ipswich - QUO will play 2 shows there. -> click here for all UK dates

  • 23.06.: around 3000 people saw QUO opening part 3 of the May / June german tour in Landsberg. The track "Heavy Traffic" was NOT in the set. Only the 2 new songs "Never say never" and "Solid Gold". Setlist same as on the german shows before - but "Junior`s Wailing" included in the "Waltz".

  • 18.06.: John Coghlan´s State of Quo confirms a gig in Rauenstein/Germany August 31.

  • 17.06.: Friday 21 sees the start of the german tour part III. Starting in Landsberg german QUO fans will see 5 shows. The special QUO day will be next Saturday when QUO appears on a pre-show on the NFL Europe Bowl in Düsseldorf in the late afternoon and afterwards performing a show in Leverkusen on the evening the same day.

    On August 5 the new single 'Jam Side down' is due to be released in UK. The single is the only song who is not written by QUO. In Denmark the song 'Heavy Traffic' was on the setlist.

  • 10.06.: gig in Stockholm had to be cancelled due to technical problems. The cause was a too small stage at the venue.

  • 06.06.: on June 7, Status Quo heads out to Scandinavia for 8 gigs. Highlight is the show on the "Swedish Rock festival" in Sölvesborg on June 7. After the heavy band Virgin Steele Status Quo will be on stage around 9.45 p.m. european time. After Quo headliner Rob Halford (ex Judas Priest) is on stage. The festival is sold out with 15.000 people every day

  • 05.06.: according to an interview with Francis Rossi in a german newspaper the name of the new single is 'Jam side down' and will be out due to August 8

  • 02.06.: there is a planned fanclub meeting in Bantam/Netherlands scheduled for October 19 from the dutch fanclub "The Army".

  • 01.06.: Status Quo is on the pre-show of the NFL Europe World Bowl final in Düsseldorf/Germany - June 22.

  • 31.05.: 2400 Quo fans celebrated QUO in Flensburg, May 30.

  • 30.05.: "Never say Never 2002" tour started again on May 30 in Flensburg/Germany. There are 9 shows in Germany, 8 in Scandinavia and 1 show in Austria in June. Highlights of the June events is without doubt the swedish rock festival were top acts of the heavy rock szene appear. Status Quo is playing there on June 7 together with the likes of Manfre Mann and Rob Halford (ex Judas Priest). Another highlight will be the festival in Künzelsau were Quo will appear with Leo Sayer and Slade (June 23)

  • german coverband Piledriver play on the dutch Borstrick Festival on May 25 with Uriah Heep.

  • 13.05.: first part of the german tour ended with stunning shows in Fulda and Hameln.

  • 07.05.: first german shows went down very well seeing a Rick Parfitt in top form and Francis suffering on a cold. Now 3 shows on May 8 May 9 and May 10 with the special birthday show on Thursday, May 9 in Hameln. That´s the show when RHINO Edwards is celebrating his birthday

  • 04.05./ late night news 2.45 a.m. - Status Quo kicked off the german tour with a brillant performance in Rastatt. An estimated 2000 crowd were amazed and saw a successful comeback of Andy Bown and an obviously light-weighted Rick Parfitt (he lost weight) and who looked very good. Rick was in absolut top form and set the highlights of the gig. The whole band was in a very good mood and proved once again that they are one of the best live acts.   • 01.05.: 4 QUO songs were voted in the top10 of a national radio 5 LIVE poll on your favourite DRIVING songs EVER !!! TOP was R A O T W, 2 was CAROLINE, 6 PAPER PLANE and 10th was R O L D. This radio programme has 7 million listeners.

  • 28.04.: "Never Say Never 2002" tour kicked off. Friday May 3 sees the start of the german 2002 tour with 15 gigs. German Quo fans looking forward to see Andy Bown´s comeback after 2 years. Support band is "Sweety Glitter and the Sweethearts" who are in their own words live a mixture of Flower Power, Easy Living and Rock 'n' Roll.

  • 15.04.: according to the current dutch fanclub issue '"The Army 57" the following 5 songs will be included on the new album: "Rhythm of Life", "If you believe", "Solid Gold", "Never say never", "I only need another day".

  • 08.04.: new CD releases: Russia CD 'Rock profile'. Universal Sweden announce a CD release of a best of compilation 'The Swedish Collection'. Due out: April 22.4. Similar to the 'Danish Collection'.
  • Alubm news: first official statements on the forthcoming new studio album: 'Heay Traffic' will include 12 new Status Quo songs. Due out in September 2002. A record company is still to be found.

  • 22.3.: Rick Parfitt was on german radio station Bayern 3 on Friday March 22. He talked via telephone to Thomas Gottschalk about the new QUO album. And Rick told the name of the new album which is called "HEAVY TRAFFIC".

  • 5.3.: July 30 sees QUO performing on deck of the aircraft HMS Ark Royal. The official QUO fanclub FTMO offers 100 tickets to fanclub members. Including a trip from London to Portsmouth on the legendary Orient express and the show on the aircraft.

  • 28.2.: german promoter Moderne Welt announce 9 gig dates in Germany in May and June (more info click to button QUO GIGS)

  • 24.2.: in Netherlands the CD "Ice in the Sun" is released. The frontcover is the same as on the CD "Ice in the Sun" released in England in 1999 (Cat.No.PIESD 005)
